3 Bold Drugstore Blushes for Fall

I think good blush formulas are hard to come by in the drugstore - many are poorly pigmented, chalky, and don't hold up throughout the day. I wanted to share my top 3 bold drugstore blushes for fall, each of them pigmented and vibrant enough to make a statement, yet refined enough shades to be wearable. Plus, each of these 3 would work on most skintones, from fair to deep.

NYX Amber (PB29)

I really like NYX's powder blush formula, and Amber is a solid representation of the line. Amber has a matte finish and is a vibrant cherry sangria pink. I find Amber to be easy to blend and easy to build up in intensity. For ulta fair skin or someone who is nervous about bold blush, Amber is a great place to start.

Wet N Wild Berry Shimmer (834E)

Wet N Wild Berry Shimmer is a bold reddened berry with a satin sheen. The intense pigmentation in the Wet N Wild Color Icon blush formula is a double edged sword. These blushes are the most pigmented at the drugstore and among the cheapest, and unfortunately the extreme pigmentation causes issues with blending if you aren't careful. Berry Shimmer packs a punch with pigment and is worth the extra care to blend it out.

Milani Baked Blush in Fantastico Mauve (07)

Milani's baked blush formula is my favorite blush formula in the drugstore - the line offers complex shades with plenty of pigment in an easy to use formula. Fantastico Mauve is a plummy mauve with shimmer in the pan that blends out to a sheen on the skin. I can't resist this shade in the fall and highly recommend it for both the shade and formula.

Swatches
All swatches were done with my finger on bare, unprimed skin.

Fully concentrated swatches, from top to bottom: Milani Fantastico Mauve, Wet N Wild Berry Shimmer, NYX Amber. Each of these shades is bold and vibrant!

Blended swatches, again from top to bottom: Milani Fantastico Mauve, Wet N Wild Berry Shimmer, NYX Amber. Each swatch appears twice, with a wearable opacity on the left and a blended sheer swatch on the right. Given the bold hue and pigmentation in each shade, I think they are all surprisingly wearable compared to what you would guess from the pan.

I hope these shade suggestions for fall help inspire you to create some fun looks!
