Bare Minerals The Comfort Zone Ready 4.0 Eyeshadow Quad review & swatches

Bare Minerals' The Comfort Zone eyeshadow quad is a pairing of four subtle satin nude shades. I haven't seen many reviews of The Comfort Zone, which isn't surprising - this quad isn't for everyone. The Bare Minerals Ready pressed eyeshadow formula is a total winner and this combo is perfect for someone who loves a soft wash of color with a sophisticated sheen. The Comfort Zone retails for $30, I bought mine at Ulta.

If vibrant color is your jam, let me save you $30.
Packaging

The Bare Minerals ready line comes in sturdy black rubberized compacts with a secure snap and a quality mirror. The packaging is functional and feels nice in the hand. Rubberized textures, including Bare Minerals and NARS, collect dust and don't stay pristine long. Overall, the packaging feels well made and is easy to store.

Shades

As you will have noticed, the shades in this quad are all light, wearable colors. The shades are:
  • Ahhh (top left), pink toned ivory with a satin finish
  • Solace (top right), yellow toned gold with a satin finish
  • Enjoy (bottom left), warm toned light bronze pink with a satin finish
  • Tranquil (bottom right), cool toned light stone grey taupe with a satin finish
The satin finishes in this palette are truly exceptional and unique in my collection. The effect reflects light and adds brightness without any visible shimmer particles, creating a refined satin finish. A true satin finish eyeshadow is perfect for no makeup makeup, conservative workplaces, and mature eyes.

Swatches

Swatches were done on bare, unprimed skin. As you can tell, Ahhh and Tranquil lean cool while Solace and Enjoy lean warm.

See the satin finish as light reflects? The finish of these eyeshadows is remarkably refined.

Pros:
  • First class eyeshadow formula - smooth, easy to work with, long lasting, pigmented
  • Subtle satin finish
  • Light shades, perfect for highlighting or all over lid shades
Cons:
  •  Pigmented, light shades like these can look chalky on deeper skintones
  • Limited variety of shades, finishes, and color depth
  • Shade selection will not suit everyone's taste
Overall, if you are the type of person who feels like all of the eyeshadow palettes out there are too dark or shimmery for you, give this a try. I reach for this quad often for quick "no brainer" work friendly eye looks and really enjoy it!
